Join us for the launch of the book In Jesus’ Name (resurrected), published by Edition Patrick Frey, followed by a meeting between Christian Lutz and his publisher, Patrick Frey. After exploring the mechanisms of political and economic power in Protokoll (2007) and Tropical Gift (2010), Christian Lutz dedicates the third part of his trilogy to religious power, following the evangelical movement International Christian Fellowship (ICF) for over a year. Shortly after the publication of In Jesus’ Name in 2012, twenty-one people appearing in the book filed a complaint for defamation. The following year, the book was permanently withdrawn from sale. In Jesus’ Name (resurrected) revisits the case and juxtaposes the photographs from the series with the content of the complaints. The work documents one of the rare cases of censorship of a photography book in Switzerland. Practical info: Free entry, no registration. Free access to the exhibitions during the evening.
