Regeneration of Coppice Management in Podyjí

Description

A walking tour focused on coppice management and its regeneration in Podyjí. The destination is Sealsfield's Stone with a dendrological explanation by the guide, Mr. Martin Šrámek (Mendel University). During the walk, participants will visit stumps where they will see a demonstration of the restoration of traditional forest management methods and ongoing research. They will also learn what a coppice forest is, what information dendrometers provide, and whether the data obtained can be placed in the context of climate change. Participants will meet on Saturday, October 3, at 9:30 AM in Popice at the starting point of the green tourist trail Popice-inn.
