Did you know that saffron is extracted from Crocus sativus and that its vegetative cycle is reversed compared to other plants? After a resting period in summer, its violet flowers bloom, while other plants prepare to face winter. It is at this moment that Fabien Fragnière and his team harvest the precious red filaments, which will give their very particular flavor and golden color to saffron-based dishes. During this walk around Grolley, you will discover wild plants, but not only that. You will make a stop at the Domaine du Guéravet where the Fribourg farmer will reveal the secrets of cultivating "the vegetal gold," the most expensive spice in the world. All of this will be complemented by a small tasting!
