Rahel Talts Quartet

Description

Elegant jazz with influences from Baltic and Nordic folk music. The emerging, award-winning Estonian pianist Rahel Talts now lives in Denmark, where she also founded this band with her fellow students. Her energetic, lyrical sound captivates with beautiful, catchy melodies, dense harmonies, and infectious beats. Talts improvises precisely and articulately with a confident sense of deep emotional expression, which she never overdoes. Her music thus gains a pulsating, robust energy that always moves forward but never seems arbitrary and radiates in a sophisticated aesthetic.
