CINEMA | DOCU Before the film screening, Queer Davos invites you to an aperitif, providing the queer community in and around Davos a space for exchange, networking, and getting to know queer offerings from the region. Afterwards, we will show the documentary QUIR - A Love Story from Palermo, which tells a story of love, courage, and the fight for visibility and equality in Sicily. In Palermo, there is a small quirky leather goods store named Quir. It is run by Massimo and Gino, who have been a couple for 42 years, making them perhaps the longest-lasting queer relationship in Italy. But they not only sell their handmade products; they have established their shop as an important meeting point for the local LGBTQI+ scene – here, people share stories about their love lives, seek advice, and discuss strategies to be better accepted in a conservative culture. Nicola Bellucci sensitively portrays this gem in the heart of Sicily's capital. Produced by Basel's Frank Matter, 'Quir' brings us closer to a vibrant community that never loses hope and humor in their struggle. With its heartwarming protagonists, the film delighted audiences at the Solothurn Film Festival and won the Prix du Public. Queer Davos is a group of queer individuals and allies living in Davos.
