Acclaimed at the 2024 Festival d’Avignon, Qui Som? (« Who are we? » in Catalan) has been triumphing worldwide. In a space initially perfectly ordered, a gesture slips, the material spreads, and everything shifts. Bodies slide, fall, get up, and cover themselves in clay. Through a series of tableaux as quirky as they are tumultuous, the group traverses a world that is disintegrating and seeks, with grace, how to continue to be a collective. True to its generous and unruly universe, Baro d’evel conjures striking images: broken pottery, clay-masked figures, plastic storms, moving walls. Humor constantly surfaces, as a way to face chaos. Qui Som? is an experience to live: a bustling time that celebrates the poetry of gesture and the strength of the collective to maintain joy and desire within us. An extravagant quest for beauty not to be missed at any cost.
