Voices, guitars, bass, and computer, along with feminism, electricity, and wildness. Groove meets tension, friction, and distortion; trance and dance meet resistance. The PUTAN CLUB sees itself as a cell of resistance, using archaic and immediate means, electric voices and noise, armored, counted words, from cave painting to the most radical conceptualism, from avant-rock to brutal techno-classics. The PUTAN CLUB does not belong to any church, neither rock nor ethno, neither techno nor punk, but claims the right to be all of these simultaneously, and more. With over 150 concerts a year and more than 2500 performances since its founding, they have toured Europe, China, Turkey, Africa, and Central Asia, and played at festivals like Amplifest (Portugal), Moers (Germany), or the Tomorrow Festival in Shenzhen. Regular collaborations connect them with Lydia Lunch, Eugene S. Robinson, Lotfi Bouchnak, and Denis Lavant. Live, the two musicians act separately in the crowd, with the audience standing in the middle.
