PROUZA Prouza is a guitar band from Frýdek-Místek that was one of the key names in the domestic alternative scene in the early nineties. After several creative breaks, the band returned to the scene in 2022 with a rejuvenated, multigenerational lineup. Alongside founding members, guitarist Vladimír Frank and bassist Bronislav Svoboda, the band now includes drummer Alex Buš, guitarist Radovan Typovský, and singer-songwriter Tomáš Gavlas. At the end of 2025, Prouza released their fifth studio album titled V téhle době after a twelve-year hiatus. The recording, produced by sound master Amák at the Golden Hive studio in Prague, deliberately avoids modern pop trends and focuses on raw post-punk and a dirty guitar sound. The band plays music that is civil yet transcendent and resilient. You can easily tune into it in a truck cabin or on the way back from the cinema. It’s easy to get lost in it, find yourself, and be moved. The main heroes and heroines of the songs seem to be searching, only to eventually fade away and leave. The music is influenced by bands like BUTY, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mac Demarco, and even Dežem Ursinym – although there are many more influences to be found.
