The exhibition aims to present and make visible to the public a selection of about eighty posters from all over Europe over a period of about a century – from the beginning of the twentieth century to the beginning of the twenty-first century. Starting from chromolithography of the early twentieth century, the exhibition also highlights the emergence of the “Swiss Style,” with its compositional rigor and geometric lettering, leading to offset and then digital printing. The exhibition reaches up to the beginning of the postmodern era, where photography and photomontages change the paradigm of visual communication.
