Eyehategod
To describe Eyehategod, even the word "legend" feels like an understatement. The notorious group from New Orleans not only co-founded the heavy NOLA sludge in the early 90s but has also influenced several generations of heavy bands with their disrespectful mix of metal, hardcore, and punk. The most astonishing thing: Even after over 30 years, Eyehategod still sounds fresh, urgent, and intense today, and they have lost none of their relevance, especially not live. Eyehategod live is a nasty, defiant, and ruthless middle finger, and extending that middle finger together is not only fun but feels so right, important, and somehow comforting in times like these.

Life means suffering, and in the end, the worms will eat us, but at least there are bands like Tar Pond that provide the perfect soundtrack for this daily decay process. "The Electric Protocol of Constant Sadness" is what the self-titled anti-supergroup from the Swiss Bünzli hell Mittelland calls it.
