After fifteen years, baroque opera returns to the repertoire of the National Theatre, and after a long twenty-five years, it is the work of the French opera guru of the 18th century, Jean-Philippe Rameau. Specifically, it is his world-famous "comédie lyrique" Platée, which has never been performed in the history of the National Theatre, the State Opera, or its predecessor, the New German Theatre.
