Description
Petr Hudec: Slovobrazy - an exhibition of words in images and images in words. Slovobrazy combines word and image. The word is concise, often condensed into a single one. The image is carried by the search for beauty, not just 'prettiness'. Beauty is indeed seen one in the other. It depends on the reader or viewer whether they 'experience the miracle' and discover for themselves 'something that is beyond sight'. Inspiration for the creation of memorial aphorisms primarily comes from the historical environment. The motif of time, connection with ancestors, and contemporaneity is repeated here: looking back is very close to looking forward. The difference between the spiritual and the profane environment is blurred here: sacred motifs can be viewed through a civil lens, and profane ones can be given spiritual content. In any case, any thing would be absurd if its meaning were limited only to its immediate function or its phenomenal form. All transcend somewhere far into that world. Even if the slovobrazy only bring a smile to you, the meaning of this installation will be fulfilled. Petr Hudec (1979) is a heritage educator, amateur photographer, musician, lyricist, and regional writer. He works as a lecturer for educational programs at the National Heritage Institute. He lives in Kroměříž. The exhibition takes place in the halls of the Latin School at Kladruby Monastery. Opening hours: Tuesday - Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
