Description

Guided by the god Love, the musician Orpheus is about to brave all dangers to find his dear Eurydice. But to bring the nymph from the shadow realm back, he must charm the monsters with the power of his music and, above all, never look back... Director and visual artist Valérie Lesort takes on Gluck's masterpiece to create an enchanted version where Orpheus, a bit whiny, faces the furies of a fiercely temperamental Eurydice. In a small stage inspired by the architecture of the Opéra Comique, the show deploys astonishing technical ingenuity: thanks to black theater, the three singer-actresses appear as creatures eighty centimeters tall, half-puppets, half-humans, moving among painted canvases and strange creatures. Accompanied by piano, this invigorating excursion transforms the classical myth into a playful adventure where the lyre becomes the most powerful weapon.
