Description
The May beetle Sumsemann loves to play the violin. When he loses a leg defending his favorite tree from a wood thief, he faces a problem. Unfortunately, the Night Fairy has banished the thief along with the branch where Mr. Sumsemann's leg was hanging, to the moon. However, the magic cannot be undone so easily, and now Mr. Sumsemann must find two children who are brave and have never harmed an animal to fly to the moon. After a long search, he meets Anneliese and Peterchen, who both possess these qualities. With the two children, he embarks on a great journey. They pass through the Star Meadow, where they ask the nature spirits for support, to the Christmas Meadow to get a gift for the Moon Man, until they finally arrive on the moon. Can they stand up to the cunning Moon Man and retrieve Mr. Sumsemann's leg?
The composer Ali N. Askin has turned this classic children's book into a musical adventure journey. His composition vividly illustrates the story of the fantastic journey of a beetle and two brave children with film music-like scoring. With celestial sounds and rapid rhythms, this piece makes the dream of a journey to the moon come true. The children can interactively help Mr. Sumsemann and his friends with their tasks.
