Description

Zlata Zhuravliova is a Ukrainian poet and cultural manager. She comes from a small town near Dnipro and has been living in Berlin since she was 16. Between two countries and two languages, she developed her own poetic voice. In 2025, she published her first bilingual poetry collection "Vorspiel". The texts are divided into three chapters – Life, Love, and War – and tell of the experiences that have shaped her writing: growing up, searching for identity and homeland, and how the war has changed her perspective on life. In Freiburg, Zlata invites the audience on a poetic journey. An evening that combines poetry and music, connecting autobiographical stories and poems. "Vorspiel" is not a traditional reading, but a poetic stage performance about memory, identity, and the search for a place between two worlds.
