Hit-list | Folk music | Accordion magic This concert is tailored entirely to the exceptional Zug-based accordionist Patricia Draeger. There are musicians who may not be in the spotlight, but who play an eminently important role from the wings. Patricia Draeger is one such musician and has been an indispensable pillar for numerous contemporary folk music ensembles and far beyond for years. Her virtuoso arrangements and compositions make this highly esteemed musician truly unique. In this respect, she has made a significant contribution to the success of the renewal movements of recent years and decades, which are also the central theme of “Heimatklänge” at the Theater Casino Zug. For this concert, Patricia Draeger has been given “carte blanche.” She has invited two groups with whom she has long been closely associated. Albin Brun and Corin Curschellas are undoubtedly among the pioneers of a new understanding of contemporary folk music. Together with Patricia Draeger, this concert is thus also a small summit meeting of the scene. The Albin Brun Quartet combines new folk music with jazz and improvisation in original, finely balanced compositions, creating soundscapes that are both poetic and rhythmically powerful. The ensemble “Rodas,” led by and featuring Corin Curschellas (vocals), Patrizia Draeger (accordion), and Barbara Gisler (cello) spins a “Wünschelrad” of colorful Romansh, Italian, and Walser songs.
