PanEco Anniversary Events

Description

The rainforests of the tropics are equivalent to the floodplain forests of Switzerland. Both ecosystems are full of rare animal and plant species and are under significant pressure.
Since 1996, the PanEco Foundation has been committed through seven programs in Indonesia to preserve the tropical rainforest and endangered animal and plant species — especially the orangutans in Sumatra.
Together with our sister foundation YEL, we operate the rescue and care station for orangutans, a reintroduction station, the Ecopark "Orangutan Haven," four research stations, and landscape projects in collaboration with the local population to protect the tropical rainforest. This year, the PanEco Foundation celebrates its 30th anniversary and the Thurauen Nature Center its 15th anniversary. Various events will take place as part of the celebrations.
