P4 - Beethoven 200 Years

Description

The first Beethoven evening will provide insight into the early and mature piano works of the composer. Under the baton of chief conductor Elias Grandy, Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, light and lively, Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major, lyrical with intense dialogues between the soloist and orchestra, and Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, full of subtle contrasts and original musical ideas, will be performed. French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet combines expressive precision with sensitivity in the solo passages, perfectly matching the tempo energy and dynamics of the orchestra.
