Origen: Totentanz

Description

The Dance of Death is one of the most impressive motifs in European cultural history. The Bündner Cultural Foundation Origen brings this timeless theme to the stage and offers a poetic perspective on transience, community, and the big questions of human existence. A creation by Giovanni Netzer with wonderful dancers to the sounds of Shostakovich, blending dance, piano, and visual language into a touching overall experience. The dance performance is the highlight of a special course in the context studies at the University of St. Gallen. During a week, master's students visited the cultural institution Origen in Riom, examined its success factors, and gained insights into the artistic creative process. The guest performance over three evenings at SQUARE will be complemented by a costume exhibition, workshops, and presentations by students. Introduction each evening at 7 p.m.
