Description
The Orchestre de Paris, a major French symphonic reference and flagship ensemble of the Philharmonie de Paris, vibrates the stage with its 119 musicians and a sound tradition shaped since its founding in 1967. Led by Colombian conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada, whose charismatic energy and elegance galvanize orchestras and audiences worldwide. Alongside him, Gautier Capuçon, one of the most remarkable cellists of our time, radiates expressive depth and virtuosity in his playing. Always seeking new horizons for his instrument, he is also the privileged interpreter of Max Richter's Cello Concerto, which he presents at Noda BCVS in the Swiss premiere. Known for his film music and unique soundscapes, the German-British composer signs a highly anticipated work that extends the dialogue between contemporary creation and the great orchestral tradition. Berlioz opens the evening with the flamboyant Roman Carnival, an orchestral splash inspired by vitality and Italian popular accents. The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, a vast fresco traversed by doubts, faith, and confrontation with destiny — a work whose outcome, between the triumph of fate and the victory of hope, remains fascinatingly ambiguous.
