Orchestra Concert with Oboe Soloist

Description

The young oboist Elena Branno performs works for oboe and English horn by the now less-known composers L. Hofmann and G. Ferlendis with the Hochrhein Chamber Orchestra from Würenlingen. However, Ferlendis was a famous oboe virtuoso during his lifetime, who played for several years under W. A. Mozart in the Salzburg court chapel. Hofmann, alongside Haydn and Mozart, was an influential composer of the Viennese Classical period. His numerous works, however, quickly fell into obscurity after his death. Additionally, a symphony in the style of the Viennese Classical by Johann Christian Bach, who met Mozart in London and greatly influenced him, will be performed, as well as Mozart's Symphony No. 29, considered his first major composition. Mozart was just 18 years old and served as the chapel master at the Salzburg court.
