Open House Zurich - Dietikon Zehntenscheune

Description

At the beginning of autumn, Zurich opens its doors for a weekend. The architecture and city experience is free for all visitors. Everyone is invited to take a look behind the facades of over 100 outstanding historical and contemporary buildings. Between 10 am and 6 pm on both days, guided tours are offered through private houses and apartments, theaters, churches, museums and schools, offices and studios, workshops and warehouses. On September 26 and 27, 2026, the Zehntenscheune in Dietikon opens its doors. Originally used by the Wettingen Monastery for storing the tithe, the barn has remained largely unchanged in its structure and appearance for centuries. The conversion of the vacant building into an event venue took this starting point as a gift. Old and new building parts enter into a subtle dialogue and allow the historic building to continue to exist with a new self-evidence.
