Olaf Breuning (*1970, Schaffhausen) is one of the most internationally successful Swiss artists of his generation. With the exhibition "Humans," the artist returns to his birthplace Schaffhausen – 25 years after his first presentation at the Museum zu Allerheiligen.

Breuning's works playfully move between drawing, photography, video, sculpture, and installation. With humor, irony, and a deliberately simple visual language, he focuses on the here and now. His works show people in all their contradictions: between curiosity and naivety, progress and irresponsibility.

At the center of the exhibition is our relationship with the world – such as the exploitation of resources and the ecological crisis. Breuning ruthlessly exposes human weaknesses without losing the pleasure of the absurd and the comic. His works invite reflection on our behavior – and drawing our own conclusions in the tension between sobriety and confidence.
