Description

Two women, one man, and one son - a parent-teacher meeting that transforms into an arena full of raw confrontation, intense emotions, and dark humor. Synopsis: Odmocnina ženy begins as a seemingly ordinary consultation between a parent and a teacher, evolving into a thrilling and painfully open confrontation between two women on the brink of collapse. With each step, their situations reverse, and the certainties with which they entered the meeting crumble. The play, full of surprising twists and sharp dialogues, masterfully balances on the edge of drama and dramedy: tense and painful moments alternate with situational humor stemming from the clash of two strong personalities. It touches on the female experience, motherhood, partnership roles, and the search for balance between family and personal needs. A story of love, loss, loyalty, and betrayal gradually blurs the line between the perpetrator and the victim – forcing the audience to reconsider whose side they are actually on until the very last moment. A gripping drama with elements of black comedy by young Canadian playwright Jordi Mand has received one ovation after another since its premiere in Toronto in 2012. In the Czech premiere, the roles in the battle of women's hearts are taken by the outstanding actresses Martina Preissová and Pavla Gajdošíková. Directed by Tomáš Mašín.
