Novemberlicht - MarlenePiaf - The Lives of Two Divas - A Dramatic Evening of Songs Full of Highs and Lows by Edzard Schoppmann

Description

In a scenic tableau, Theater Baden Alsace plays, sings, and narrates the rise of two dazzling show stars, icons of their time, who were closely connected in friendship. Always pursued and observed by the public, often destructive towards themselves, both possessed an unyielding will to succeed. Having reached the pinnacle of show business, they were torn between the strength to give everything and the helplessness to maintain an image that threatened to shatter. At the end of their lives, they fell more and more into a psychological hell of loneliness and addiction.
Theater Baden Alsace presents a bittersweet theatrical pleasure full of floating lightness, which repeatedly plunges from carefree heights into depths through suddenly appearing trapdoors. In the end, only one thing remains: the music. The performers are Freiburg dancer, actress, and singer Juliane Hollerbach, whose outstanding vocal performance was awarded the ZMF Prize in 2012, Strasbourg actress and singer Zabou Lux, and Richard Doust, actor, pianist, and trumpeter, also from Strasbourg.
