Description

A violinist with a fiery, curious, and daring personality, Thomas Briant establishes himself as one of the most unique voices of his generation. Trained at the CNSMD in Paris and then at the Haute école de musique in Lausanne with Renaud Capuçon, he shapes a career where the demands of the great repertoire dialogue with a strong taste for creation. Invited to numerous festivals, he performs alongside major artists such as Martha Argerich and Gautier Capuçon. He is notably a laureate of the Seiji Ozawa International Academy, the Prix Thierry Scherz, and the André Hoffmann of the Gstaad Musical Summits 2026. A passionate chamber musician, member of the Trio Zarathoustra in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac, he broadens the horizons of violin repertoire by collaborating with contemporary composers. He is accompanied by pianist Antoine de Grolée, laureate of the Long-Thibaud International Competition and the Fondation Banque Populaire. Around Ravel, Enescu, Messiaen, Fauré, Lili Boulanger, and a piece by Thomas Briant himself, this vibrant program is carried by his Gagliano violin from 1735.
