New Talents — Loewe Quartet

Description

Founded in 2020 at the Zurich University of the Arts, the Loewe Quartet – Bastian Loewe and Livia Loewe-Berchtold on violins, Juan Carlos Escobar Ossa on viola, Milena Marena on cello – establishes itself as one of the most promising Swiss quartets of the young generation. Winner of the Kiwanis Competition at ZHdK and then of the first Kammermusikwettbewerb Paul Juon, they have already performed at the small hall of the Tonhalle in Zurich and benefit from the support of the Förderkreis Kammermusik Schweiz. Around Schubert, Beethoven, Purcell, and Dvořák, this program spans several centuries of chamber music, from the “Quartettsatz” to the lyricism of the American Quartet, including polyphonic fantasies and the classical clarity of Quartet op. 18 no 3. Between refined textures, collective energy, and storytelling, the Loewe Quartet delivers a vibrant quartet, rooted in tradition but looking towards the future.
