Noemi Beza made it clear early on that she doesn’t want to dance in the background. What sets her apart is her sense of presence: she’s just as at home on stage as she is on TikTok, Instagram, and anywhere else pop culture is happening. Raised in the canton of Thurgau, the then-17-year-old singer with Ethiopian roots released her first EP in 2023, performed shortly thereafter at renowned festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Openair St. Gallen, and the Gurtenfestival in Bern, and landed “Head Up High,” her first song to reach the Top 50 on the airplay charts. Since then, Noemi Beza has been impressing audiences not only in live performances. No filters, no empty posturing—just voice, style, and substance. Since the release of her first EP, “Would You Know,” Noemi has spent a lot of time in the studio, further developing her sound and maturing both musically and personally. She once again collaborated with her in-house producer Jonathan Müller, who had already played a leading role on her first songs, while also opening herself up to new influences—for example, in sessions with Benjamin BNJI Schmid and singer-songwriter Dana, whose joint work resulted in the first single release “Hear Me.” Within just a few weeks, the single made it into the Top 10 of the Swiss airplay charts and established Noemi as one of Switzerland’s most exciting new voices. Driven by a palpable openness and the urge to constantly try new things, she has developed a stylistic range that gives audible expression to her free spirit. The EP “You’ll Find Me There,” set for release in June, blends contemporary pop with surprising influences from indie, folk, and country. With “You’ll Find Me There,” Noemi Beza proves that she is already much more than just a promising talent: she is a young artist with character, depth, and a voice that lingers. Noemi’s music demonstrates how one can sound both vulnerable and untouchable at the same time.
