Nobility on the Road

Description

During the tour of Route I of the castle, you can admire artifacts that Count Erwin Dubský (1836-1909), a frigate captain, brought back from his travels. In addition to the traditionally displayed collection of samurai armor and weapons or Oriental porcelain, we have also included items in the library that are otherwise stored in the castle's depositories. The artistic processing may catch your eye with a writing instrument box or letter paper, a tuna-shaped doza, or a dragon candlestick, and there are also bast sandals. The biggest curiosity with an interesting story is the mummy that the count purchased in 1855 in Alexandria. His collecting interest also included period albumen photographs (now a unique collection of world format), copies of which we exhibit in the inner courtyard of the castle, allowing visitors to be transported to Japan, China, Senegal, America, and other places at the end of the 19th century (1874-1876).
