At the performance of the BRASS BAND BERLIN, the audience can expect a jazzy, swinging, grooving, traditional-hinting, Dixie-jubilant, and classical-celebrating full-throttle hurricane from eleven exceptional musicians. The eleven musical artists, led by the inimitable bandleader and host Thomas Hoffmann, ignite a musical fireworks display that is full of speed, tempo, passion, precision, and cross-genre diversity, combined with a touch of comedy, humor, and improvisation, which might cause concern for the blood pressure of unprepared viewers.
No one is spared; you cannot resist the drive of these eleven. Hoffmann assembled the ensemble from wind players of all major Berlin orchestras more than 30 years ago: as Brass Band Berlin, they tour as an independent high-pressure variant across the country, showcasing their skills on their instruments according to all the rules of art. They are supported by a superb drummer and a guitarist (also with a banjo), and of course, vocals are included. Starting with "When the Saints...", followed by "Wagner in Dixieland" and the "Pink Panther," and also interpreting the Bolero. Henry Mancini, Bert Kaempfert, Duke Ellington, Ravel, Strauss, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, to name just a few legends honored. The entire concert is a nonstop highlight! "If you want to highlight something special, it is the incredible joy of playing of the musicians!" The fiery concert culminates with a drum solo by Kai Schönburg and a clarinet solo by Tobias Schiller, who celebrates what feels like "ten cubic meters of air" during the never-ending clarinet solo in "Sing, Sing, Sing."
