Negah Amiri is one of the most sought-after rising stars in the German comedy scene. But what sounds like an easy career start from a picture book was actually hard work. When she fled Iran to Germany 20 years ago, the circumstances were anything but rosy. She ended up in a secondary school in Wiesbaden, where she was teased because of her first name. But Negah didn't let this get her down, worked harder than others, graduated from high school, and then studied applied media. Shortly thereafter, she hosted her own radio shows. Parallel to that, she started posting comedy content online, which quickly reached a large audience. Encouraged by the many positive reactions, she worked on her jokes and brought them to stage maturity. Since then, Negah has been touring as a stand-up comedian and presents, alongside entertainment, also topics of stance such as human rights in Iran or gender equality worldwide.
