The Kartause Ittingen estate included not only lands but also the nearby Nussbaumer Lakes. The monks sourced fish from these lakes for their sustenance. Today, the area is a protected nature reserve, recognized as a landscape of national importance due to its history and valuable habitats for rare plant and animal species. Arrival by public transport: to the Nussbaumen TG, Schulhaus PostBus stop, then a 15-minute walk to the parking lot at Nussbaumersee. The tour takes place in all weather conditions. We recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Insurance is the responsibility of the participants. Children only when accompanied by adults.
