Natur Verbindet - Heckenpflanzung

Description

As part of WWF Central Switzerland's marten project, participants will plant a approximately 150-meter long hedge designed to serve as a guide and shelter for martens and other animals. Guided by experts, attendees will learn about the lifestyle of martens, the ecological importance of diverse hedges, and the significance of ecological connectivity. If time permits, the hedge will be complemented with some brush piles to provide additional breeding sites for wildlife. This initiative promotes biodiversity in our cultural landscape through collaborative efforts involving farmers and volunteers, who also engage in planting orchards, maintaining meadows, installing nesting boxes, and combating invasive species.

Held at Hof Reto Hübscher, Oberwil 24, 6330 Cham, Switzerland. The event runs rain or shine on December 5, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Bring suitable clothing, sturdy shoes, work gloves, and a refillable water bottle. Lunch is provided. Registration closes on December 3, 2026, at 12:00 PM.
