Nature Connects – A Hedge for Muolen

Description

Do you want to move from thinking to acting and actively contribute to nature conservation? This event is perfect for that! During this activity, we will plant a structured hedge with native shrubs and bushes, additionally supplementing the hedge with integrated brush piles. We need many helping hands for this. The goal is to create valuable habitats for insects, birds, reptiles, and small mammals – especially for the Red-backed Shrike, which loves open, diverse landscapes with thorn-bearing hedges. Help us plant this hedge by digging holes together, cutting roots, and planting shrubs. We will also protect individual hedge plants from wild browsing. By creating the brush piles, you will learn how to build a rearing chamber for weasels. Expect great company with like-minded people, a tasty vegetarian lunch, and an exciting talk on hedge ecology.
