Description
Special lecture in a small setting (75 seats) A genocide and its consequences Parallel to the moving photo exhibition "Lost Homeland," Freiburg photographer and MUNDOLOGIA-
Prize winner David Lohmüller gives an unplugged lecture in a small setting, providing insights into his intensive documentary work on this project. He personally and closely shares stories from his travels in northern Iraq and about the people behind his images. Lohmüller has been accompanying Yazidi families for many years, who continue to live with the consequences of the 2014 genocide, fleeing, displacement, and loss of their homeland. His photographs lead to refugee camps, the destroyed Sinjar region, and places of great religious and cultural significance. In the lecture, he offers further insights into his encounters on site, reports moving fates, and discusses the people's efforts to preserve dignity, everyday life, and hope despite difficult living conditions. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss his experiences, work, and the situation of the Yazidi community with David Lohmüller. More information and images of this MUNDOLOGIA lecture can be found at www.mundologia.de
