Description

Discover the behind-the-scenes of the reconstruction of a heritage site. What does it mean for a traditional construction company to enter a monastery with a history nearly 900 years deep? How and where were special bricks sourced? Where did they have to look for old pavement and why was the company disappointed that they couldn't use concrete... All this and many other intricacies of building in a national cultural monument will be explained by the contractor representative Radek Hosnedl (and those who know him know it will be an experience full of humorous anecdotes). The entire tour will also conclude at Santini's gazebo, where no tour has taken place before. The gazebo was realized as the last part of the major works, and the contractor (after collaborating with a team of designers, heritage supervision, and subcontractors) restored its original appearance.
