After the acclaimed album «Clay», created in collaboration with Matthew Herbert, the musician now presents her solo debut. As a drummer, producer, songwriter, and singer, she has previously performed with artists like Alabaster DePlume (around 2022 at Moods), Matthew Herbert, Coby Sey, Tirzah, and Nadeem Din-Gabisi. But with «Momoko» (2026, Strut Records), she now steps into the spotlight with an album that is entirely her own. It features stylistic influences from jazz musicians as well as singer-songwriters and experimental and electronic music. Instead of imitating stereotypes and staying within traditions, Momoko Gill shapes her sound through feeling and expression. And her buttery-soft voice can melt even the coldest heart.
