Theater with music France, mid-17th century: Jean-Baptiste Molière and his illustrious theater travel with their adventurous theater cart across dusty country roads, always on the edge of subsistence, but driven by passion and the applause of the simple audience. With his new play Don Juan, Molière challenges fate: with sharp social criticism and humorous malice, he exposes the double standards of the powerful – until the church bans the play. But then King Louis XIV calls the troupe to court. Suddenly, the ensemble finds itself in the tension between censorship and royal favor. There is also turmoil behind the scenes: an explosive love triangle between Molière and the sisters Madeleine and Armande Béjart blurs the boundaries between stage and reality. With the experience of 35 years of touring theater, this production promises a fireworks display of humor. A turbulent play that catapults the audience into the 17th century and does not let go.
