Inspired by Shakespeare's poetry and the archaic biblical texts, Herman Melville's novel tells the famous adventure story about the mighty white whale Moby Dick and his vengeful hunter Captain Ahab. Homeless and driven by blind hatred, he gathers a community of sworn companions who are faced with the fundamental questions of human search for meaning in the struggle with natural forces: What do we live for? What is the goal? Melville describes in powerful images and with philosophical depth the human struggle with himself and nature, thus creating a visionary portrait of our modern civilization. The ENSEMBLE PERSONA is a Munich-based, professional ensemble of freelance theater artists who live their conviction through their outstanding language treatment and clear, unpretentious style of play: to convey the richness of life wisdom of great texts in all their profound, poetic, and humorous facets to the audience in an understandable and emotionally touching way.
