As dusk slowly turns into night, the active time begins for the barn owl. On this family excursion, you will dive into the hidden world of this fascinating nocturnal hunter.

Together, we start at Thurnen station and head into the landscape of the Gürbetal. Along the way, we discover how the barn owl lives and what habitats it needs. Diverse cultural landscapes with meadows, hedges, and old buildings are especially important for it. On the way to a small shed, we take a closer look at where the owl lives. We search for traces and retreats.

You will learn the latest findings from research on the hunting of barn owls. You will feel how important nighttime darkness is for many animals.

With a bit of luck, we will spot a barn owl in the darkening sky. The evening ends with a small bedtime snack before the group returns to the station.
