The exhibition presents the work of Miroslav Srostlík Moravský, a self-taught artist and a prominent figure in Czech woodcarving, whose life and work are closely tied to music, education, spirituality, freedom, and a deep relationship with both humanity and nature. His artistic journey has evolved from small jewelry to monumental wood carvings, where craftsmanship, imagination, symbolism, and personal experience intertwine. In his hands, wood becomes a living material, imprinting his thoughts, questions, and worldview. Alongside his creations, his story also includes a lifelong commitment to working with people – in education, in woodcarving workshops, and in organizing cultural life, musical gatherings, and artistic activities. The exhibition offers an encounter with works that carry themes of human freedom, nature, faith, life, and the transformation of humanity, while also reminding us of the personality of their author – an exceptionally hardworking, sensitive, and independent individual for whom creation is primarily a path to inner fulfillment. His sculptures, reliefs, and other works are not only a showcase of masterfully executed craftsmanship but also a testament to a life lived fully, with courage, humility, faith, and an unrelenting desire to create.
