Description

After repeatedly exploring the work of Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Robert Bouvier reconnects with the author through a text that has long inhabited him. In a staging by Jeanne Pasquier, he brings to life a creature of melancholic purity, far from the bloodthirsty monster of legends, trapped in a labyrinth of mirrors where his own reflections are his only horizon. Magnified by the scenography of Fredy Porras, the sound creation of Ben Tixhon, and the choreographic eye of Mehdi Berdai, this theater of images and materials unfolds a sensitive fable about difference and exclusion. Alone on stage, both storyteller and embodiment, the actor delivers an organic performance within an operatic setup that probes the dark areas of consciousness to the vertigo of solitude. In this piece, echoes of our multiple lives can be guessed: joy, clumsiness, violence too. When otherness cannot be perceived as a chance, then isolation crushes and ravages us.
