Cellist Michael Flury and pianist Simone Keller will let the music speak without words at this unusual song evening. In addition to the immortal Franz Schubert, there are also compositions by women who receive little recognition for their work: Lil Hardin Armstrong, Irene Higginbotham, and Julia Perry. The duo Keller/Flury effortlessly overcomes stylistic boundaries between classical and jazz, without falling into a simple "crossover," placing Lil Hardin's "Bad Boy" alongside Schubert's love-struck miller apprentices, finding a flowing transition from "Oriental Swing" to "On the Stream."
