Le Château de Mathod invites you to discover its truffle orchard, a one-hectare plot dedicated to truffle cultivation, amidst carefully maintained oaks and hazelnuts. During the visit, you will delve into the fascinating world of truffle cultivation: the symbiosis between the tree and the fungus, the truffle's life cycle, and environmentally friendly cultivation methods. A highlight of the experience is witnessing a digging demonstration, where the truffle dog searches for the precious truffles buried in the soil. The discovery continues with a walk through the historic gardens of the castle, classified as national monuments, offering an exceptional setting between heritage and nature. * For groups of 8 or more, additional visits can be organized upon request during the truffle season, from September to January. * Equipment: Good shoes, weather-appropriate clothing. The visit is maintained even in bad weather. * Note: Dogs, even on a leash, are not accepted. * Participants: max 12 people (min. 6 people) * Registration and online payment are mandatory up to 72 hours before the walk. * The development of the truffle largely depends on natural and weather conditions. In case of a truffle shortage and to maintain the quality of the service, the organizers reserve the right to cancel the walk.
