The Soul Speaks – Beethoven with Martha Argerich There are evenings when music is more than sound – when it becomes the language of the soul. This evening is one of those. Martha Argerich, for decades one of the brightest stars in the piano world, takes the stage of the Tonhalle Zürich once again. Alongside her: the charismatic violinist Maria Solozobova, whose playing oscillates between fire and tenderness, and Cristina Marton-Argerich, niece and collaborator at the second piano. Beethoven is at the center: The lyrical Spring Sonata opens the evening like a first breath, the dark Sonata in C Minor Op. 30 No. 2 digs deeper, and the Kreutzer Sonata – one of the most powerful ever written – throws the audience into a current from which they do not want to escape. In between: the radiant Rondo by Franz Schubert, a moment of pure, playful joy in the dialogue of two pianists. Embark on a journey that will resonate with you long after. The soul speaks – listen.
