Description
Rauhnächte – this is what the tradition calls the twelve mysterious nights between Christmas and Epiphany. They have always been considered a magical time and are filled with myths and fairy tales that tell of supernatural happenings, the eerie Wild Hunt, and legendary figures. In the pre-Christmas season, the fairy tales and stories surrounding the Rauhnächte come alive. Martina Wiemer, born in Berlin, has lived in the Black Forest for more than four decades and is a storyteller through and through. She lets children experience the world of fairy tales in nature, at special and beautiful places. For adult listeners, she conveys the meaning and often hidden symbolism that lies dormant in the fairy tales. The soiree about the “time between the years” helps to escape the Christmas hustle and bustle for a few hours, pause, and open oneself to the upcoming new year. Martina Wiemer, recitation
Karin Stocker-Werb, violin
Stephanie Schempp-Demiriz, cello
