Marienkapelle and Library Hall in Hirsau Monastery

Description

The late Gothic church building from 1508 is an impressive testament that Hirsau was still a monastery of importance at the end of the Middle Ages. It replaced the Romanesque predecessor from the time of Abbot Wilhelm. The upper floor of the chapel housed the monastery's library and is only accessible on special occasions.
