Every year, young and old are in a festive and meditative mood as the end-of-year holidays approach. Celebrate these festivities at one of the traditional markets of St. Nicolas and Christmas in the region and be enchanted by the sparkling lights, handcrafted objects made with passion, and sweet scents. The Bienne Christmas Market is the largest in the region. In charming small houses decorated in Christmas colors, nearly 80 exhibitors offer their products, mostly handmade. Due to its privileged location in the city center and the diversity of artisans, the market attracts more than 500,000 visitors. A meeting place not to be missed is located at the intersection of Nidau Street and Dufour Street, where the Bienne bourgeoisie has established a Canadian cabin. Here, forest workers offer some small forest delicacies such as mushroom risotto, wild boar or veal sausage, mulled wine over a wood fire, etc. Several activities also take place at this location.
