Marcel Lüscher Quartett

Description

The Marcel Lüscher Quartet presents a nuanced jazz performance characterized by melodic melancholy, careful sound design, and a cohesive interplay that emphasizes tension and expression. Featuring saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, piano, bass, and drums, the band crafts a sound that seeks rather than shines, blending personal storytelling with floating textures and rhythmic explorations. Their latest album, 'Make Things Happen,' showcases a melancholic Scandinavian aesthetic with virtuosic yet understated playing, emphasizing mood, color, and dramaturgy over solo virtuosity. The band’s intimate chemistry and shared musical language make for a compelling concert experience.
