Description

Why do men suffer more than women when they are sick? We explore this and other questions in our play "Männerschnupfen." Because "Männerschnupfen" is a prime example of the supposed misunderstanding between men and women. The duo comedy cabaret "Männerschnupfen" is based on the eponymous book by Peter Buchenau. The stage version offers not only very entertaining but also informative scenes as well as witty and sometimes double-meaning dialogues with a keen sense for profound nuances, designed to amuse and also provoke thought in the discerning audience. The two main actors complement each other perfectly in the play. Buchenau plays the suffering "Männerschnupfen" patient, who passionately explains to the audience that poor men experience much stronger pain with "Männerschnupfen" than women do during childbirth. No wonder Peter doesn't get much understanding from his stage partner Gloria. However, she does motivate him to visit a doctor’s office. So, the poor Peter ends up with the emotionally detached and dominant doctor, who prescribes him countless medications.
